INFORMATION ABOUT THE M/S EXPLORER
On November 23, 2007, our beloved ship the M/S Explorer sank off the coast of Antarctica. Please click here to read a personal message from Bruce Poon Tip, CEO of G.A.P Adventures.
The Original Expedition Ship
Dubbed 'The Little Red Ship', Explorer had a long history of travel in both polar regions. Her compact size and shallow draft allowed her to travel where larger ships could not and her cabins and common areas were conceived for passenger comfort and enjoyment. All of Explorer's public areas were designed to hold everyone on the ship in one sitting, creating an intimate, family atmosphere aboard each sailing. Small, agile and stalwart, she was a go-anywhere ship for the go-anywhere traveller.
