What exactly is a Custom Tour?
As the name suggests, Custom Tours can be just about anything you want. We can arrange worldwide travel for between 1 and 9 passengers with a minimum 4-day stay.
Basically, passengers on custom tours will travel independently without a G.A.P Adventures tour leader or group. All services, transfers and accommodations will be pre-booked for you. Local day tours and assistance will be provided by our local representatives and guides. Many tours and transfers are private, while some will be pooled with other travellers.
If you have a group of 10 or more, please email the groups department at groups@gap.ca. If you're not sure exactly what you want, we can offer our favourite ideas, just ask!
Do you offer Different Styles of Accommodation?
Of course we do! Here are the categories we work with:
- Budget 1 to 1 1/2 Star (basic accommodation which can be multi-share such as hostel/homestay or camping)
- Tourist 2 to 2 1/2 Star (simple accommodation including small hotels, guesthouses, inns, camping - can include some homestay)
- Standard 3 to 3 1/2 Star (comfortable accommodation with some amenities, can be small to mid-size hotels or guesthouses / inns)
- Superior 4 to 4 1/2 Star (upgraded accommodation with many amenities, can be boutique or mid-size to large hotels)
- Deluxe 5 Star + (Luxurious accommodation with full amenities, can be boutique or mid-size to large hotels)
- A note about lodges: Most of our jungle lodges are comfortable and eco-friendly. This means they may have features ranging from biodegradable drinking straws to solar-powered lights or generators.
