Planeterra
Started in 2003, Planeterra - the G.A.P Adventures Foundation is our non-profit organization that was developed to give back to the people and places we visit on our tours. Planeterra supports local community projects, non-profit organizations and international charities that focus on the areas of health, education, community development, environmental conservation and employment skills training.
By identifying projects and organizations that specialize in different areas, donors are provided with a variety of worthwhile projects to choose to support.
Where does my donation go? G.A.P Adventures matches your donation dollars and pays all administration fees for Planeterra. 100% of each donation goes directly to Planeterra programs. Complete information about Planeterra programs can be found at www.planeterra.org
Local Community Projects
By fostering partnerships with communities and local non-profit organizations, we encourage our partners to identify their individual needs. We support these needs with an annual donation either in funds or in materials (equipment, other supplies).
Planeterra has more than 20 projects around the world, including South Africa, Peru, Belize, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras, Cuba, Bolivia and Ecuador. To find out more about the community projects we support and how you can help, visit our community projects webpage.
International Charities
We support the work of international charities that are leaders in their respective fields. Plan Canada, the Galapagos Conservancy, Youth Challenge International, Seva Canada Society and Wells of Hope are just a sample of charities we work with. Note: For Canadian residents, donations made to support our international charity partners may qualify for a tax receipt.
