Day 1 Arrive Kota Kinabalu
Arrive in Kota Kinabalu at any time.
Day 2 Mt Kinabalu National Park (B)
Travel to the foothills of Mt Kinabalu. Explore the many trails and rest up for the big trek.
Day 3-4 Mt Kinabalu (2B,2L,1D)
Lace up your hiking boots and tackle the mighty Mt. Kinabalu, the highest peak in South East Asia. Find yourself with your head in the clouds while enjoying the sunrise over the South China Sea.
Day 5-6 Kinabatangang River (2B,2L,2D)
Journey along the Kinabatangang River. Keep your eyes open for wild elephants, boar, otters, orangutans and other reclusive species in this amazing environment.
Day 7 Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre (B)
Come face to face with the original 'wild men of Borneo', the lovely orangutans (meaning 'man of the forest'). This centre is an excellent working example of active conservation, whose main focus is to reintroduce domesticated, injured and orphaned orangutans back into the wild.
Day 8 Sandakan to Kota Kinabalu (B)
Explore the former POW camp, infamously remembered for the 'death marches of Sandakan.' Afterwards, move to the lighter side of this historic town by going shopping along the bustling waterfront markets.
Day 9 Manukan Island (B)
Today is a lazy day to relax on Manukan Island. It's one of several islands that make up the Tunku Abdul Rahman National Marine Park - go snorkelling and soak up this tropical paradise. The rest of the day is yours to wander around town and check out the shopping possibilities.

The guides (Ben and Amadul) were excellent. Friendly and very informative. The group size was good (15). Had a great time, and there was a good balance between the trekking/hiking/jungle and hanging around on the beach/city (KK)
- Jessica N
The whole experience was amazing. It has made me confident to travel again by myself as part of a G.A.P tour. I cannot say enough good things about my group leader and the guides.
- Cherie S
Overall an amazing tour. Nothing quite so satisfying as conquering the highest peak in South East Asia on the second day of your trip! The relaxed but incredible jungle tours that followed made for the perfect mix of experiences.
- Ilya Z
fantastic. Trish was a great help from the beginning and made my going to Turtle Island happen
- Rachel W
A fantastic 10 days discovering Sabah 'Land Below The Wind'. Amazing scenery from the tops of Mount Kinabalu, a jungle full of wildlife, another great G.A.P trip. Kalyn, Arkin, Bart and all the workers that were a part of Sabah adventure, Thank you!
