Day 1 Arrive San José
Arrive in San José at any time.
Day 2 Tortuguero
Take a scenic bus ride down through the mountains, then navigate through rivers and canals to Costa Rica’s Caribbean coastal town of Tortuguero, home to Tortuguero National Park. The beaches here are nesting grounds of the enormous green and leatherback sea turtles.
Day 3-4 Cahuita
Travel south to Cahuita, a laid back Caribbean town with attractive beaches and a great national park. Spend the day hiking the park's trails, snorkelling vibrant reefs, eating coconuts with the monkeys or simply relaxing in the sun.
Day 5-6 Puerto Viejo de Talamanca
Continuing south we reach Puerto Viejo to enjoy white and black sand beaches surrounded by exotic tropical vegetation. Rent a bike, catch some waves, or go for a hike through Manzanillo National Wildlife Refuge.
Day 7 San José
We return to San José for a final night on the town.
