Day 1 Arrive Livingstone, Zambia
Arrive in Livingston at any time.
Day 2 Chobe Area (B)
Today cross over the mighty Zambezi River to the area of the Chobe National Park. The best way to appreciate Botswana's largest national park and its thousands of resident elephants, crocodiles, and hippos, is on an afternoon boat cruise on the Chobe River.
Day 3 Gweta (B,D)
Choose to embark on an early morning game drive in Chobe National Park in search of lions, antelope, and of course elephants. Your journey continues south today, to the village of Gweta, located near the bizarre salt pans of Makgadikgadi.
Day 4-5 Okavango Delta (2B,L,2D)
The Okavango Delta Excursion is an experience not to be missed. While based at a bush camp within the world's largest inland delta, enjoy game walks and traditional mokoro (dug-out canoe) excursions, marveling at the wide variety of wildlife that calls the delta their home. This is truly an African experience!
Day 6 Maun (B,L)
Make the most of this morning for further wildlife and nature exploration in the fascinating ecosystem of the Okavango Delta. After a couple of days "roughing it", in the afternoon you will return to Maun to prepare for your journey across the Kalahari Desert.
Day 7 Greater Kalahari (Gobabis) (B)
Today is spent travelling across the western regions of Botswana, and into Namibia. We will travel along the northern portions of the Kalahari Desert throughout the day - this is a severely arid, barren, though awesome landscape.
Day 8 Windhoek (B)
Travelling west towards the capital will take you further into the fascinating country of Namibia. Today you will get a taste of the extraordinary landscape of this wild country. Take an optional city tour, or visit one of the many handicraft markets in this historic city.
Day 9-10 Etosha National Park (B)
As one of Africa’s highlights, the Etosha National Park offers a variety of wildlife and phenomenal natural beauty. Explore the pans and the park on game drives, with excellent opportunities to spot lion, giraffe, elephant, rhino, and antelope.
Day 11 Otjiwarongo
Enjoy one last morning game drive in search of the park's incredible wildlife, and begin moving south into the stony desert landscapes of Damaraland. Explore the nature trails and look out for the resident wildlife on walks within the lodge' private reserve.
Day 12-13 Swakopmund (B)
Heading south through Damaraland for two nights in Swakopmund, an area with a lunar landscape where you can explore the historical town, or try some of the numerous activities available, such as sand boarding and a dolphin cruise.
Day 14-15 Namib Desert (B,2D)
Travel through mountains and cross into the void regions of the Namib Desert and Sossusvlei. Day 15 is spent exploring the natural wonders of this bizarre environment; you will visit Sesriem Canyon, and have a guided walk at Sossusvlei - a clay pan, enclosed by the world’s largest sand dunes, up to 300m high. Here you can try your best to climb the largest mound of sand that you've ever seen!
Day 16 Keetmanshoop (B)
Relax and enjoy the morning at the desert lodge, located in a beautiful area with natural wonders. Embark on an early morning game drive, take a guided hike in the surrounding area, or just relax and enjoy the desert morning. Around midday, we cross the incredible south-eastern section of the Namib Desert en route to Keetmanshoop for the evening.
Day 17 Fish River Canyon/Gariep River (B)
Before departing Keetmanshoop, take a visit to the Quiver Tree Forest or the Giant's Playground, both unique sites and great locations for photography. Fish River Canyon is the largest canyon in Africa, and arguably the second largest in the world. Spend some time here taking in the majestic beauty of the canyon. We take some time for lunch in the area, and continue south as we slowly leave the Namib Desert behind us.
Day 18 Lambert's Bay (B)
Travelling from Namibia, we cross the Gariep River into South Africa. We have a good day's travel through this dry and remote portion of South Africa. In the late afternoon, we arrive at the picturesque town of Lambert's Bay on the West Coast of South Africa.
Day 19 Cape Town (B)
Travel inland, and at Clanwilliam we continue south with the Cederberg Mountains in the distance. After a few hours, we approach the famous, beautiful, and cosmopolitan city of Cape Town. Enjoy some free time to explore the historic center, the prominent Table Mountain, or just sit back and enjoy some good wine after an incredible journey.
