Day 1 Arrive Bangkok
Arrive in Bangkok at any time.
Day 2 Bangkok (B)
Chaotic streets, busy canals, tranquil temples, colourful markets and food that defies description. Bangkok truly is the essence of Asia.
Day 3 Sukhothai (B)
Spend the day cycling along shady laneways whilst stopping to stroll through some parts of the temple complexes in the Sukhothai Historical Park. See lotus ponds, stop at the local markets within the park, and enjoy a great day that all the family will remember.
Day 4 Lampang (B)
Stroll through this old-style Thai town where you can take a horse drawn cart ride to see some of the sites. Visit the elephant conservation centre and see these gentle giants up close and personal. If we are lucky, we may even get to see a baby elephant!
Day 5 - 7 Chiang Mai and Hilltribe trek (3B,2L,1D)
This northern city has long been a traveller's favourite - with fantastic street food, an awesome night bazaar, hundreds of bejeweled temples and beautiful surrounding countryside. The hills of northern Thailand are home to a vast diversity of ethnic minorities - each with their own culture, traditions, language and costume. Follow the well-trodden mountain paths to discover the villages, play football with the locals and stay in simple style local houses.
Day 8 - 9 Chiang Rai/ Bangkok (2B)
Visit this colourful and infamous border region, often called the Golden Triangle, which was famous for its Opium trade many years ago. This is the area where Laos, Thailand and Burma meet. You can almost throw a stone from Thailand to Burma!
Day 10-12 Koh Samet (2B)
A short drive from Bangkok takes us to Ko Samet, where take a boat trip and enjoy snorkelling, swimming, sandy beaches and great food. Enjoy a massage on the beach, get yourself a fake tattoo, and ALL the girls just love having their hair braided!
Day 13 Bangkok (B)
Return to the chaotic capital and finish up your shopping at the weekend market.
