Travel from the beach town of Mancora to colonial Trujillo and its coastal neighbour Huanchaco. Explore Lima’s museums, nightlife and cafés. Continue to Pisco, named for the liquor produced here. Fly over the Nazca Lines before reaching colonial Arequipa and excursions to the Colca Canyon. Cuzco, the Inca trail and the ruins of Machu Picchu are next; watching dawn break over Machu Picchu at the end of the 4-day trek is the experience of a lifetime. Last are the shores of Lake Titicaca, with a trip to the Uros floating islands, and an overnight with a local family.
Day 57-68 Bolivia
From fascinating La Paz, travel south to Cochabamba before arriving in Sucre, Bolivia’s “White City.” In World Heritage Potosí, you can crawl down a working mine. Finally spend three days in 4x4 vehicles exploring mountains and blinding white salt flats between Uyuni and the Atacama Desert (Chile).
