Day 1-10 Venezuela
Arrive in Caracas at any time on day 1. Travel from Caribbean beaches to Ciudad Bolivar for an optional flight over Angel Falls—the tallest in the world. Hike Venezuela’s famous Canaima National Park for more waterfalls and spectacular scenery.
Day 11-50 Brazil
Travel from the depths of the Amazon to the Atlantic Ocean. Follow the coast, past historic cities and remote beaches to Bahía, the heart of Afro-Brazilian culture. Fly to Rio, with world famous beaches and nightlife then continue to Curitiba and laid-back Ilha do Mel, before heading west to awesome Iguassu Falls.
Day 51-55 Uruguay
Cross northern Argentina before enjoying the thermals bath of Salto, Uruguay. From Montevideo and its white sand beaches, travel back through time with a night in colonial Colonia del Sacramento.
Day 56-61 Argentina
Arrive in dynamic Buenos Aires, and catch a tango show or sample the nightlife before continuing on to stunning Bariloche, famous equally for its chocolate, great hiking and skiing.
Day 62-77 Chile
Travel through the Andes and cross into Chile at Puerto Montt. Continue to the outdoor mecca of Pucón, and on to the capital of Santiago. Visit a Pisco factory in beachside La Serena. The last stop is San Pedro de Atacama, on the edge of the driest desert in the world.
Day 78-89 Bolivia
Spend 3 days crossing into Bolivia through mountains and blinding salt flats by 4x4. Travel north to World Heritage Potosí home of the first mint in South America. Spend two days in Sucre, Bolivia’s “White City,” and stop in Cochabamba on our way north to La Paz, the highest capital city in the world.
Day 90-113 Peru
Drive to the shores of Lake Titicaca, and stay with a local family. Next are Cuzco, the Inca trail and the archaeological site of Machu Picchu. Wander the Inca capital or watch dawn break over Machu Picchu at the end of the 4-day trek—the experience of a lifetime. Take an excursion to the Colca Canyon from colonial Arequipa. Fly over the Nazca Lines before continuing to Pisco, named for the famous liquor. Enjoy museums and nightlife in Peru’s capital Lima before heading for colonial Trujillo, and its coastal neighbour Huanchaco. The beaches of Mancora are our last stop in Peru.
Day 114-123 Ecuador
Cuenca is a laid-back colonial gem filled with galleries and museums, while Baños, is famous for hot springs. Experience the Amazon rain forest and travel to the country's picturesque capital, Quito. Cross the equator to visit the traditional market at Otavalo followed by the town of Cayambe located at the base of a volcano sharing its name.
Day 124-146 Colombia
Travel to Cartagena, a modern city with a fabled past. Continue along the coast to Santa Marta, the country's oldest town, then visit Tayrona National Park, renowned for its coral and jungle vegetation, before returning to Caracas.
