Day 1 Phoenix to Canyon de Chelly
Hike down to the entrance of Canyon de Chelly (pronounced "d shay"), and begin our adventure. Spend the night listening to Navajo creation myths around the campfire.
Day 2 Spider Rock
Embark on a memorable all-day hike to the base of Spider Rock, making frequent stops en route to learn from our Navajo guides. Enjoy a picnic lunch at magnificent Window Arch, hiking right up to it if time allows. Our guides share stories of Spider Rock: its significance in Navajo mythology and its meaning for people in contemporary Navajo society. Tonight enjoy a campfire with our Navajo hosts, including drumming, singing and storytelling.
Day 3 White House Ruins
Hike to the White House Ruin with our Navajo guides. After dinner there is a campfire, where you can test your skills against our guide in traditional hand and stick challenges.
Day 4 Canyon Rim
From camp hike to the canyon rim on an old sheep trail to enjoy the panoramic views. From the top see how the sheer red sandstone cliffs have formed a maze of canyons. After lunch descend down one of Canyon de Chelly’s local trails and hike back to camp. Stories of the Navajo Long Walk and Kid Carson’s chase out of Canyon de Chelly fill the evening.
Day 5 Cherry Ruins
After a short hike to explore Cherry Canyon we return to camp for a day of recovery and relaxation with our Navajo friends.

Day 6 Canyon del Muerto hike
Canyon del Muerto is considered the "male" canyon, Canyon de Chelly being "female" in Navajo mythology. This new canyon hosts the famous Ute Raid panel, a pictograph depicting scenes from Ute Indian traitors attacking Navajo canyon residents when Kid Carson raided the area. Dinner brings an evening of more story telling, stargazing and cowboy poetry.
Day 7 Return to Phoenix
Hike out via the Sand Trail, and leave the Canyon for Phoenix.
