Day 1 Arrive Buenos Aires
Arrive in Buenos Aires at any time.
Day 2 Buenos Aires to Ushuaia
Fly south from Buenos Aires to Ushuaia. Free afternoon in the world’s southernmost city.
Day 3-4 Tierra del Fuego National Park / Drake Passage
After a morning at leisure, embark on the expedition ship. Experience the stunning views of the Beagle Channel as you head towards Cape Horn before crossing the Drake Passage. Enjoy daily lectures from your expedition team, and keep an eye out for the first sightings of icebergs, whales, and albatross following in the ship's wake.
Day 5-7 Antarctic Peninsula & South Shetland Islands
Experience some of the most unique wildlife viewing and inspiring scenery in the world as you set foot on the Antarctic continent. Take two excursions per day (conditions permitting), and encounter Gentoo, Chinstrap and Adélie penguin rookeries, Weddell, Crabeater and Leopard seals, as well as Orca, Humpback and Minke whales in the cold Antarctic waters. The Peninsula also has a remarkable human history. During the voyage we will learn about some of the most important and dramatic expeditions to this remote corner of the world.
Day 8-9 Polar Circle Crossing
We set off southward along the western coast of the Antarctic Peninsula, passing colossal icebergs and countless colonies of penguins along the way.
Day 10-11 Antarctic Peninsula and South Shetland Islands
We will then turn north for the first time and head back through the 'inside passage' (pending ice conditions) to continue our exploration of the Antarctic peninsula.
Day 12-13 Drake Passage
Begin the journey north back to Ushuaia. Enjoy great meals and reflect on our memorable adventure during our final two days at sea. Review the highlights of our Antarctic experience with our lecturers and staff, and keep your eyes open on the observation deck for some final whale sightings.
Day 14 Ushuaia to Buenos Aires
Disembark after breakfast and transfer by bus to the airport for your included flight to Buenos Aires.
Day 15 Buenos Aires
Today is free to explore Buenos Aires, known as the Paris of the Americas. Wander the plazas and museums or sit at a local cafe and reminisce about your Antarctic experience. In the evening join your fellow travellers for a farewell dinner and traditional tango show.
